Kreamy Soaps: Microsoapery

Micro, local, small producer, independent vendor, hand made, love filled and more . . . these are the qualities we look for in vendors we choose to do business with. Vendors such as Kreamy Soaps who take on the big task of producing quality soaps on a small scale. It is vendors like this who embody sustainable business practices. Their aim is to create luxury products in the context of a supportive business model. They are not trying to mass produce their goods in order to take over the market, they just want to focus on quality and sustainable production.

Located in Northern San Diego county, Kreamy Soaps is a small family run business. They continue the tradition of manufacturing soap on a small scale. Before the industrial revolution soap was made in small batches, it was an artisinal process. Many things have changed between then and now but the simple art of soap making has remained relatively unchanged. Except for the ingredients, soap has historically been made from the fat of sheep and/or cows. This is outdated method has been updated by Kreamy Soaps to meet the times. The key ingredients now are all sourced from plants, particularly palm, coconut, olive, jojoba and pine tar.

Now you must be wondering what the heck is Pine Tar and why is it in my soap. Pine tar is a distillate from pine wood and has historically been included in soaps to aid in improving irritating skin conditions. Pine tar is said to help people who have conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and skin rashes. The main vegetable ingredients used in making this soap add deep emollient and moisturizing qualities that leaves the skin soft and supple.

Kreamy Soaps is lovingly hand made in small batches since 1994, when stored properly each bar will last months.

Enjoy!
