Quinoa Morning Fruit Bowl
Start your morning off with a healthy bowl of warm quinoa cereal, some roasted nuts and fresh fruit of your choice. Get's your day off to a great start and gives you the energy that you need.
Ingredients:
(Serves 4)
- 1 cup organic nut milk of your choice
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup organic quinoa, (rinse quinoa)
- 2 cups fresh fruit, organic preferred
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted*
- 4 teaspoons organic agave nectar, such as our premium quality Zebra Organics Agave
Directions:
1. Combine nut milk, water and quinoa in a medium saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
3. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.
4. Turn off heat; let stand covered for 5 minutes.
5. Stir in fresh fruit and cinnamon; transfer to four bowls and top with pecans.
6. Drizzle 1 teaspoon agave nectar over each serving.
*While the quinoa cooks, roast the pecans in a 350F degree toaster oven for 5 to 6 minutes or in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
