The Brazil nut tree is a magical plant native to South America. It is found not only in Brazil but Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and Columbia growing along the banks of the many great South American rives. The tree grows tall and straight, up to 160 feet tall and is know to live up 1,000 years.

Brazil nuts are almost wholly wild harvested, there are a few plantations but they are not economically viable. Due to the trees relationship with an orchid and a species of bee which pollinates the plants it difficult produce nuts outside of the wild groves.

We are pleased to be offering this tasty wild cold pressed oil from Brazil nuts. This oil has a distinct nutty flavor, rich and full bodied, it is a gourmet oil prized for its delicious flavor. The flavor of this oil adds a distinctive flare to salads, dressings, marinades and deserts.

Brazil nut oil is rich in Vitamin E, selenium, as well as omega 3.6, & 9 fatty acids. Its content of selenium makes this nut special, because selenium is difficult to come by. And, the quantity of selenium found in Brazil nuts meets the recommended daily allowance. Brazil nuts are also an excellent source for magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and manganese. Selenium uncommon trace mineral found in Brazil nuts is being investigated for its potential use against certain types of cancer. Selenium is also helps with lowering joint inflammation, reducing free radical damage to cells and helps the thyroid produce thyroid hormone.
